Peer-to-Peer Campaign: 2024 Colour Festival Fun Run

Money Raised: $8,100.00  Campaign Goal: $20,000.00

The Beads of Courage Colour Run in celebration of Doug Gillespie benefitting Beads of Courage-Canada is an un-timed 5 km event open to people of all skill levels. Participants will pass through colour stations, accumulating colours on their bodies - symbolizing the colourful strands of beads these courageous children use to tell the stories of their medical journeys.

The course is planned for the beautiful Lakeview Park in Saskatoon. The run will begin at 9 AM on June 2, 2024. The wheelchair and stroller-accessible course will be lined with stations where volunteers will throw coloured celebration powder (made from cornstarch) at those participating in the run.

About Beads of Courage-Canada

It is our mission and passion to transform the treatment experience for children coping with serious illness by helping them RECORD, TELL and OWN their story of COURAGE. The Beads of Courage Program is available for all children & teens coping with serious illnesses.

Through the Beads of Courage program, children use colourful beads to record and tell their stories of courage. Each member begins with their name on a lanyard and then follows a colourful bead guide that determines the different beads they will receive along their treatment journey. For example, a yellow bead represents a night spent away from the comforts of home, a black bead signifies each poke or blood draw, a rainbow bead for every therapy treatment, and a handmade glass bead recognizes significant milestones or big moments of Courage.

Thank you for helping make healing happen!
